Datsun Roadster U20 Performance Solex C Cam 296 duration .480 lift
An original, 13001-25510, Nissan C camshaft was profiled by a prominent cam grinder who was responsible for supplying performance grind camshafts to various Nissan racing teams of the 60's and 70's. An identical master of the profile was made from an original Nisan C cam (SEE PHOTO). The exclusive master was contracted so as to grind U20 cam cores to the identical Solex C specification. Included with each camshaft is information regarding a recommended starting point for the lash pad thickness required for the specific cam you will be receiving. Each lash pad set will differ as the base circle can vary slightly on cam cores. The lash pad thickness for the C cam is most often slightly more than the stock thickness lash pad.
The most significant difference between the Solex B and the Solex C camshafts are mainly in the duration of the camshafts. The lift value is slightly more than the B profile. Since Nissan supplied this camshaft in their Motorsports catalog its intended use was to be with the U20 Solex 4 barrel induction kit that was in production at the time. I have personal experience with this camshaft and it is quite different than the Solex B cam. It is not a full race cam and is completely acceptable for use on the street.
