Datsun Roadster Shift Boot Option Primarily for the 67 1/2 year cars. You can also use this set up for the early cars 65 - 67 if you do not want to use the accordian rubber boot. This is not originally the way the cars were delivered See part number 2181
Simply lay the polished stainless trim ring over your shift plate. Mark the 4 holes. Remove the stainless trim and drill 1/8" clearance holes through the shift plate. Lay the rubber on top of the shift plate and then the polished trim piece on top of the rubber. Use the hardware kit to capture the pieces to hold them in place. Conversely there are another 2 ways to mount these parts: 1) You can put the polished or flip it over for the brished finish and put it on the top of the shift plate and the rubber boot underneath the shift plate, however some of our cusotmers prefer that the rubber boot flange is sandwiched between the two metal parts. 2) You can put the rubber boot underneath the shift plate and add the trim plate and secure the nuts against it.
