We recommended that anyone contacting these individuals develop a safe relationship and protect your car and your financial interests by:

Checking to make sure that these companies are registered with the Bureau of Automotive Repair, have a current Business license, City tax permit and if applicable registered with the State Board of Equalization
Always ask for a quote for any services rendered, estimated time of completion and if there is any warranty for the work they perform. Having things in writing before deposits are given keeps things honest and clear for both parties.
Ask for your old parts back when the work is completed.
