Both variants - Seal on bearing installs facing the third member. Superior sealing to factory kit.
Having no seal on the bearings one side will not change the fact that if the differential inner axle seal ever fails, gear oil from the third member will penetrate the open bearing thus washing out the grease and causing the bearing to run with gear to the point of failure. By the time you figure out this has happened you will either lose the bearing or the axle.
