If you really want to absorb the vertical and torsional vibrations of the crankshaft, Nissan's design at the time was too poor and useless to achieve this. Half-baked vulcanized rubber will only cause problems and hinder safe driving. Fortunately, the U20 crankshaft is a full counter balanced type with less vertical vibration, and since it is a 4-cylinder engine with a short overall length, the torsional vibration is much less than that of a 6-cylinder engine.
